Mark A. Beede
The Foundation's executive director is Mark A. Beede. An attorney, Mark

has previously served in various prestigious national USTA volunteer positions
and has conducted national workshops to train grassroots staff and volunteers.
Mark is a past-president and serves on the Board of Directors for the
Hawaii chapter of the American Society of Association Executives, where
he received the 2004 President's Award for Outstanding Service. Beede
also received the Hawaii USPTA's Facility Director of the Year Award in
2003. Certified P-1 by the USPTA and Pro by the USPTR, Mark is also a
nationally ranked player. Mark moved to the Foundation in 2000 after having
served as executive director for the USTA/Hawaii Pacific Section.
Eugene McGeehan
Gene McGeehan, a USPTA P-1 certified pro, has taught tennis for 14 years.
He has taught at Hickam AFB and at Pearl Harbor Racquet Club. He currently
handles the Foundation's programs at Fort Shafter in Honolulu. He has
worked with the Hawaii Junior Team Tennis and has coached team tennis
in the Junor Olympics. Prior to teaching tennis, Gene served active duty
in the Air Force and retired with 20 years service as a Master Sergeant.
While stationed at Hickam AFB, he was a member of the Hawaii Interservice
Tennis Team. He also played on the all Air Force Tennis Team and participated
in the worldwide Interservice Tennis Championships.
Ryan Perreira
Ryan started teaching tennis in 1987 at the University of Hawaii @ Hilo
campus. Ryan played for UHH from 1985-87 at 1st or 2nd singles and doubles.
Ryan moved to Oahu in 1990 for graduate school and didn't play tennis
until again October 2003. Ryan got his USPTA coaching certification shortly
after and started working at a teaching professional for HPTF in 2004.
Ryan has accomplished a lot of things since getting back into tennis including
winning the gold metal in doubles (4.0) and mix doubles (4.0) in the 2004
Aloha State Games. Most recently, Ryan was the captain of Hawaii's Team
(Shadenfreud) that won the men's National Championship in Arizona. Ryan
still feels that his greatest accomplishment in tennis, is teaching his
students how to enjoy the game of tennis. Ryan is married to his wife
Joe-Ann and has two children, Kamaile and Kapono.
