FOUNDATION HIRES ALEX SMITH AS CORP FACILITY DIRECTOR
The Hawaii Pacific Tennis Foundation has hired Alex Smith as the facility
director for the Central Oahu Regional Park Tennis Complex. In his new
position, Alexwill manage the day to day affairs of the complex, including
supervising administration, maintenance, scheduling, and concession activities.
According to Foundation Executive Director Mark Beede, "The Foundation
is extremely fortunate to partner with Alex in taking tennis to a new
level in Hawaii and on Oahu. Alex's big picture vision for Hawaii's tennis
and his attention to detail make him an invaluable addition to our team."
Alex, a life long tennis supporter and player, is also President of
HI-5 Sports, a sports management company. Under Alex's direction, HI-5
Sports was a finalist in the City proposal process for management of the
Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex. In that endeavor, HI-5 Sports gained
the support of the local soccer community, members of the City, and the
support as consultant from Big League Dreams, an award winning sports
facility management firm on the mainland. Alex is also a CPA and MBA and
has worked extensively with not-for-profit organizations providing accounting
and management advice. Smith also has international experience, working
for Deloitte & Touche for 7 years, 4 of those in Micronesia. Alex is involved
in his community, and is the current President of the UH College of Business
Administration Alumni Association.
The Hawaii Pacific Tennis Foundation is a not for profit 501 (c) (3)
charity committed to community and individual improvement through the
growth and development of tennis.
