JAMES LIN AND VIRGIE FUKEDA GOBBLE UP MIXED DOUBLES THANKSGIVING ROUND ROBIN

Jumping out to an early lead in total games won, James Lin teamed up with Vergie Fukeda on Saturday, November 23 to roll through a fairly strong but friendly mixed doubles field in the Foundation's first annual Thanksgiving Turkey Round Robin. Lin and Fukeda scored 23 games throughout the 6 match round robin, and had clinched the title by the beginning of the last round. For their efforts, Lin and Fukuda each received a 20 pound turkey for their Thanskgiving feasts.

Myrah Kim and Kenneth Johnson edged out Winnie Harris and Ray Bartels for second place, but had to play a tiebreaker to decide an initial second place tie. Kim and Johnson each took home a 10 pound turkey.

The next event, the Holiday "Oddball" Team Challenge takes place on December 7 and 8 at the newly built Tripler Hospital courts. For more information contact executive director Mark Beede at 479-6727 or by email at beede@hawaiitennis.org .
