Marc Manaois Named Foundation's Junior of the Year

The Hawaii-Pacific Tennis Foundation has named Marc Manaois as its 2003 Junior of the Year. Manaois, a 14-year-old freshman from Moanaloa High School carries a 3.2 grade point average and lives in Ewa Beach.

"Marc's attitude embodies the Foundation's core principles and ideals" says Foundation head tennis professional Chris James. "Marc performs the absolute best he can on every drill. He does everything the coach asks and then some,whether his knee bothers him or not. Everyday he strives to be his best regardless of his health and is a positive influence to those around him during practice."

The Foundation will present the award to Manaois at its Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 11 at the Okinawan Center in Waipio Gentry. Tickets are still available at $50 for the general public and $45 for Foundation members. The Banquet will also feature USPTA President and national Coach of the Year David Porter who will speak on the "Qualities of a Champion" and internationally renowned coach Gavin Hopper who will talk about "Life on the Pro Tour".
