Great and Exciting Things

Great and exciting things are happening through our Foundation. You may have heard in the Mayor’s address that the construction of the Club House (complete with locker rooms) for the C.O.R.P Tennis Complex will start next month. We are also moving forward with our partnership with CashHopper.

We are excited about our new “Tennis Buddies” program. We would like to team up “Big Buddies” – adults – with “Little Buddies” – juniors or younger – to be able to give “Littles” a chance to develop their tennis skills and perhaps fill other other needs such as academic and friendship with “Bigs” who will help with their tennis game, as well as provide mentoring, encouragement and friendship. The “Bigs” have the knowledge that the positive relationship with their “Littles” will have a direct, measurable, and lasting impact on children’s lives. We are also working on other benefits that we will offer to the partners.

More exciting news in that line is that we are working on a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters to offer a site where high school students can buddy up with “Littles” to do service learning and community service.

These two mentoring programs offer “Bigs” and “Littles” a chance to develop into better tennis players and people.
